First two items

Here are my first two items I have listed for sale. A lacy, crocheted Doll cape, which will fit a baby doll, or an American Girl Doll. Shown in white, navy and pink. Also available in black or ivory.

The second is a doll snugli, perfect for the little girl who wants to be a good "mommy" for her doll. It is made of a light denim material, of whatever I happen to have around. My next one will be of navy blue with red flowers. The front pocket is quilted, and can be personalized on the front with the girl's name or the doll's name.

My Etsy Shop

Please check out my etsy shop, Stitched By Lyn, and you can also find me on Facebook. I want my work to earn my customer’s trust, so my motto is reliability, attention to detail with quality work, expertly sewn and crafted items, and I would like to convey that all I do is done with loving care. I’m ready to begin. Will you help me to start this adventure?

What am I up to now?

I was so proud in 7th grade to make my first “jumper” in home economics. I think I even wore that jumper till after high school graduation. I loved sewing and made most of my wedding dress with a little bit of my mom’s help, and all my bridesmaids’ and flower girl’s dresses. Shortly after our wedding, I decided to learn how to crochet. When our daughter was born, I started sewing clothes for her, and creating toys and doll clothes as she grew up. Later, I made Christmas presents and gifts, not only because it saved a little money, but I felt that the fact that I invested my time and love in the process made them special. I also made all the bridesmaids dresses for my daughter’s wedding just eight years ago.

I’ve always wanted to work from home and recently, I started to dream when I realized that I could start small, creating a few items, and selling them as I found time. I will also begin to do more alterations and custom sewing, particularly bridesmaids’ dresses. If this would grow enough, I could fulfill my desire to stay at home. My brain is working overtime on planning, making and designing. I’m still using the same sewing machine I bought used 37 years ago.
